Cold Spring Park is Newton’s workhorse open space: a flat two-mile network of wood-chip and gravel loops through mixed forest and wetland, popular with dog walkers, cross-country teams and stroller pushers.
The Beacon Street lot hosts the Newton Farmers Market on Tuesday afternoons in summer and fall. Boardwalks cross the wettest sections, but spring mud is real.
