Cochituate Aqueduct Trail
A dead-flat grassy path along a buried 19th-century aqueduct, running for miles through backyards and woods.
Waban
4.7(121)A small, genuinely charming tree lighting in the square with carols, cocoa and a fire truck Santa.
The Waban tree lighting is deliberately modest: the merchants association puts up a tree, a school chorus sings, someone hands out cocoa, and Santa arrives on a fire engine to the delight of every child present.
Starts right after dusk in early December and lasts under an hour. Free, and one of the nicest small-town moments in the city.
