West Newton Fourth of July Parade

West Newton Fourth of July Parade

Newton’s hometown Independence Day parade — decorated bikes, fire trucks, and a whole lot of candy.

Newton’s Fourth of July celebration brings a genuinely old-fashioned parade down Washington Street: scout troops, the high school band, antique fire apparatus, and a long tail of kids on decorated bicycles anyone can join.

Stake out curb space by 9:30. Free. The city usually pairs it with a field day and evening fireworks elsewhere in the city — check the schedule.
